Advanced Learning Technologies

The North Dakota University System's Advanced Learning Technologies (ALT) department, a unit within System Information Technology Services, focuses on current and emerging educational technologies that enhance and expand teaching and learning opportunities across the NDUS.  ALT will provide leadership for enterprise instructional systems and services like videoconferencing services, webconferencing services, course management systems, and other system-level, academic technologies.  In addition, ALT will coordinate with campuses the research and analysis of instructional technologies and assist with developing solutions based on specific instructional needs and desired outcomes.

Wimba Web Collaboration Tool

The Wimba Collaboration Suite offers a rich array of collaborative tools that allows faculty to retain the highly personal and lively nature of traditional classroom instruction within existing online courses. Wimba Classroom and Voice integrates with Blackboard, WebCT, Angel and Moodle. Both can be used with other course management systems as stand alone environments.
