The Wimba Collaboration Suite is a series of online collaborative tools that can be used for instruction and meetings, in both formal and less formal settings. The three main applications of Wimba include:
Classroom: Classroom provides users with a formal gathering space that can be used for virtual instruction and meetings. Classroom incorporates voice, video, messaging, application sharing, and content display, to give instructors and presenters maximum flexibility in shaping and delivering collaborative content in the online world.
Pronto: Pronto is an instant messaging and voice chat tool that provides users with a less formal gathering space for discovery, teaching, and learning. Like Classroom, Pronto incorporates voice, video, messaging, application sharing, and content display – in a spontaneous, live environment.
Voice: Voice offers a suite of audio-only applications that are designed to complement text-based online learning. The goal of these voice activities is to increase interaction, engagement, and retention.
